Mel Gibson Wants This Website!

A Los Angeles based company representing Mel Gibson recently contacted me regarding this very website. The contact, whose name was Alan indicated that Mr. Gibson is interested in acquiring this domain name to assist in his effort to inform the world of the coming events of December 21 2012. The contact politely and very professionally asked me if I would be willing to donate this domain name to Mr. Gibson’s cause. After careful consideration, I respectfully declined his request, and indicated that despite my limited resources and modest capabilities, I too have an interest in enlightening the world on the coming events.

This website has been up and running for just under a year. In that short period of time the site has achieved some remarkable results. December212012.com along with its sister sites, “.net”, .”org”, and “.info”, have consistently ranked very high on major search engines around the world. Our site statistics indicate that this site is being viewed by people from 62 different countries, and the overall hits continue to increase with each passing month.

With the upcoming release of Mel Gibson’s new movie “Apocalypto” on Dec. 8th, I can understand his interest in wanting to obtain this domain name and the traffic that it already generates. Very soon Mr. Gibson will start his promotional campaign for his new movie, and much like the buzz created before the release of “The Passion of the Christ”, December 21 2012 will soon become a topic of discussion for a great many people.

The bottom line is simply this. If Mel Gibson is truly interested in obtaining this domain name, I think a more appropriate action would be for him to make and offer to purchase not a request to donate.
