I think that there is a real sense in our culture that we are heading towards some kind of apocalypse – maybe it is part of the Christian concept of the apocalypse but I am not saying that is an exclusively Christian concept. Maybe that is one of the things that make people resonate with these apocalyptic movies. I did this junket for 2012 and people kept asking me if I really thought that it was going to go in 2012 in the way that it seems to be going and I said that ecologically, we seemed to be right on target. I am really concerned with that because we are moving towards a very difficult time. Under Bush, we had eight years that were rough in every way, not the least was the assault on Mother Nature. However, I am not loving Obama – he made this statement when they were talking about trying to accomplish with the new legislation about global warming and he said “Let’s not let great be the enemy of good.” That just stayed with me
and haunted me. “Great be the enemy of good” – let’s not make great, firm international legislation and try to settle for what we can get. LBJ probably would have said that.

Canibus
Germaine Williams, better known by his stage name Canibus, is a rapper. He is noted for his intricate and complex rhyme schemes and punchlines, as well as his sound technique and aptitude as a battle rapper.

Canibus has released a CD called "Beyond 2012" which explains his interest in December 21 2012.

Gibson said, “The precursors to a civilization that’s going under are the same, time and time again.” He also said, “What’s human sacrifice if not sending guys off to Iraq for no reason?”

Us Magazine reported that Gibson also said jokingly, “I just wanna draw the parallels. I don’t wanna be a doomsayer, but the Mayan calendar ends in 2012. So have fun, boys and girls!”

Lil Wayne is convinced the world will soon end after reading about Mayan prophecies on his tour bus, and he is sure recent events in world history prove the Mayans were right - and Armageddon will happen in 2012.

He tells Blender magazine, "The world is about to end in 2012... 'cause the Mayans made calendars, and they stop at 2012. I got encyclopedias on the bus.

He is predicting based on his study of the Mayan's that something incredible may happen on December 21 2012. He has pondered the idea that it could possibly be the middle of the 7 year tribulation when the anti-Christ is revealed but states that is just one of many things possible.
