Conscious Mind Journal - 2012 Update

I am always discovering new things, interesting things that give me pause for contemplation. Recently I mentioned 2012 to a friend and he didn't know what I was talking about. After explaining that it is the end of the Mayan long count calendar, and speaking of the Hopi prophecy, and the Inka, I asked him if he "feels" like something is changing. He enthusiastically said yes, that he can feel a great change in the world, in the way his business is working, in the way people are treating each other, and in the way our culture is losing its sense of meaning for living life. I sent him some information on 2012 and waited to hear back.

A few weeks later my friend called me to say that he looked at the information and that although he does feel that something is happening, it is hard for him to accept the order of magnitude of the shift that some are predicting. Now here is the interesting part for me, he went to dinner with several friends from his church and during dinner he brought up 2012 to these mainstream gentlemen. Not one of them had heard of 2012 and moreover he said that when he brought it up, they just paused and looked at him as if he were crazy, and then continued with their conversation. Not only had they not heard anything about 2012, they didn't show even the slightest interest.

This is interesting to me because I had assumed that 2012 was "out there", that it had or has entered the mainstream of human consciousness. Between my friend not having ever heard of 2012 and then his experience with his friends, I have learned that 2012 is not really mainstream at all. I had another occasion to test this when I told another friend about 2012- he had never heard of it. Here I thought 2012 had reached archetypal levels in awareness and consciousness, and my friends and associates outside of the spiritual work haven't even heard of it. This is of great concern because I believe 2012 is, among other things, a time of great a spiritual shift and if the "masses" are not yet aware of the impending shift, I'm wondering what it will take to get their attention?

There are at least two camps emerging on the 2012 issue. One camp speaks of this being a spiritual event and the other camp speaks of 2012 being a physical or literal event. And the lines between these two camps are blurred as they usually allow for some of both. Here is what I think. 2012 is a spiritual or mythic shift primarily. But I think that it will include elements of literal shifts as well, to the level and extent that humanity calls that into being. When I realize that mainstream people, or the masses, haven't heard of 2012 or are still largely unaware, I am concerned because part of the literal or physical aspect of the 2012 shift will be whatever is called for or is necessary to bring the requisite spiritual shift into the consciousness of the masses. A great shift in human spiritual evolution will require getting the attention of a critical mass of the humans living on the planet, and what better way to get our attention than massive earth changes that trigger natural and perhaps unnatural disasters. We literally may be "shaken awake" if need be. For those who have eyes to see and ears to hear then, it is advisable to do your own healing work and your own spiritual work to prepare for what is to come, but I am urging you to do more. In order to lesson the literal aspects of the earth changes accompanying the beginning of the age called the Sixth Sun, educate yourself on this issue and then spread the good news. That is, tell your family, friends, neighbors and associates at work; tell everyone you can about the galactic alignment that will take place on December 21, 2012, and then pray that they do their spiritual work and share the good news with their friends and family.

It is hard to imagine the world we live in today changing or shifting into something resembling a "golden age", but that is exactly what is happening. All of the old "maps" are slipping away as we co-create new maps for this period of healing for planet Earth. This is the good news. But there is a catch. In order to participate in this new age, we have to do our own work- our own healing work and spiritual work, each of us individually and collectively. When we do our healing and spiritual work, we evolve our species. Those who are engaged in this work are evolving right now from homo sapiens to homo luminous. This is why it is important to share what is happening with those who are unaware.

I need to make a sober statement: The next few years are going to be difficult beyond your imagination. Everything that is false is going to fall away. Now, think about what I am saying. Everything that is false. To help you understand and get an order of magnitude about what I am saying, I will give you one example of something that is false. Money is false. There is no intrinsic value in the currency that we currently exchange. You can't eat it; you can't do anything with it; it's just paper and the only reason it holds value right now is because we agree that it has value. You take your dollar bill to the merchant and you trade it for.. let's say.. a banana. You are trading a small piece of green paper for a banana because you and the merchant both agree that the dollar bills value is equal to or greater than the banana. What do you think would happen if the merchant no longer agreed that the dollar bill held any value and he saw it for what it truly is, a small piece of imprinted green paper? You would keep your paper, the merchant would keep his banana, and you would be hungry.

In my previous writings about 2012, I've been more passive because generally my philosophy is "live and let live", or "if it harms no one, do as ye will". I'm beginning to feel differently about this issue because of the seriousness of it. To be passive is to be asleep, perhaps, and what we need people to do is wake up. We are truly in this together- it is a global village when it comes to 2012. The shift to come is a global shift and humanity will reap what we sew. The time for action is now. The time for healing is now. Heal yourself, heal the earth.
