Commemorating 2012
The 2012 Mayan Prophecy medallion and coin
As
we get closer to the much-anticipated date of
December 21 2012, it seems that more and more
2012 related products are being introduced to
educate, communicate and even celebrate the coming
changes. In addition too countless television
shows, books, movies and videos, we now have products
such as 2012 Black Ale and Dan Aykroyd’s
Crystal Head Vodka, just to name a few.
A relatively new item designed to pay homage
to the incredible events that will soon redefine
our very existence is the 2012 Mayan Prophecy
Coin and Medallion. Whether you believe that December
21 2012 will mark the end of the world as we know
it, a spiritual awakening, or absolutely nothing
at all, these collectable works of art will serve
as an everlasting reminder of this fascinating
moment in time.
Minted in deep relief using a special "splash
minting" process, the three-inch 2012 Mayan
Prophecy medallion and 1 3/4 inch coin are struck
and finished in antique bronze. Each item features
a perfect, highly detailed replica of the ancient
Mayan calendar surrounding the Mayan sun God Tonatiuh.
The reverse side displays a sacred Mayan temple
above the 2012 "prophecy" which reads:
"The day the sun aligns with the
galaxy’s center. The day the fourth world
passes and the fifth is born. The day evolution
stops and mankind’s new dawn arises. The
day over 5,000 years of history – the
Great Cycle – ends."
The intricate details and overall weight of these
coins is absolutely amazing. When held in your
hand, you can almost sense what the ancient Mayans
were trying to tell us. You will discover a whole
new appreciation for the countless hours spent
analyzing the movements of the universe, and the
time necessary to document and carve their incredible
findings on a calendar that has proven itself
extremely accurate time and time again. The Mayan
calendar round dictates that we not only look
towards the future, but we must remember our past,
for our past is the best indicator of what our
future holds.
The signs are all around us and the cycles of
the Long Count Calendar are coming full circle.
As we enter into the age of renewed enlightenment,
we must never forget the people who had the foresight
and courage to provide us with the necessary warnings
of coming change. What better way to commemorate
the ancient Mayans and their remarkable findings
then with a single piece of bronze coinage depicting
their most world-renowned achievement. The Mayan
Calendar.
