I have heard that Edgar Cayce’s Association
for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E), 69th and
Atlantic in Virginia Beach, holds great metaphysical
conferences, featuring international and local
experts. I was able to squeeze in their recent
conference, “2012: Dawn of a New Age”
and was delighted. John Van Auken, Director at
the A.R.E. has a well earned reputation as a great
speaker. I was spell bound as he showed the evolution
of ancient cultures and humanity over the past
10 million years, starting in Lemuria, and ending
with … you guessed it, December 21, 2012.
Many ancient cultures who’s records yet
remain, alerted us, you and me, to these “End
Times” or “The Shift of Ages.”
As subsequent speakers presented, there were many
uncertainties and differences of opinion about
the details, including the actual date of the
end of this Long Cycle of the Mayan Calendar.
They did agree that the end of the calendar does
not herald a world-wide disaster as Hollywood
would love for us to believe. Rather, the challenges
we are already facing, in economics, in weather,
in personal wellbeing, are about purging what
no longer works to support the higher energy and
consciousness now evolving on the planet.
Although there continue to be indicators of
continuing upheavals, the message from the presenters
is not to stockpile but to release – release
old patterns, old beliefs, old ways of separation,
greed and abuse. The Shift of Ages is about higher
consciousness and finer vibrations. Heart-based,
inclusive, community-building, spirit-led actions
and attitudes will help us all ride the coming
waves. What a ride it might be!
What did Edgar Cayce have to say about 2012?
